The PA8SOD3TK18-08 adapter converts 8 pin SOIC devices to a DIP footprint for production, prototyping and hobbyist alike. The phase-out of DIP devices has pushed designers to SOIC. SOIC devices mounted on these adapters fit into existing circuit boards. Bare board assets can be used rather than scrapped.
Available as a bare board and DIP plug, these convenient adapters simplify the assembly process with single pass, topside only soldering, making single side paste and reflow operations possible. The plug has through-hole pins in a DIP insulator, which stabilizes the adapter during manual soldering.
Using these adapters the SMT parts gain the pluggable feature of 8 pin DIPs. Unlike SOIC packages, the DIP format allows for interchangeability among equipment.
Prototyping activities benefit from these adapters. The SMT device can now be used on breadboards. The adapter provides solder points for break out and signal probing. Capacitors, pull-ups and the like may be added. |
